A delightful fusion of French techniques and vibrant flavours of Mumbai, India!

What Elaichi Means

“Elaichi” means cardamom in Hindi — a spice deeply rooted in Indian cuisine, found in both sweet and savoury dishes like curries and biryanis. For me, cardamom evokes joyful memories of my hometown, Mumbai. While I’ve always cherished the vibrant flavours of Indian spices, I found many traditional pastries overly sweet for my palate. This inspired me to study culinary arts in France, where I focused on mastering pastry techniques. Today, Elaichi is the fusion of refined French methods and bold Indian spices, resulting in pastries that are beautifully balanced and truly memorable.

Our Values

At Elaichi, every pastry tells a story—a celebration of heritage, artistry, and community. Inspired by the vibrant streets of Mumbai, we bring the bold flavours and aromatic spices of India to every bite, honouring traditions and our culture.

Our commitment to excellence is rooted in French pastry techniques, honed at Ecole Ducasse in Yssingeaux. I took this training to ensure that each creation is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and encapsulates our incredible indian flavours with refined French techniques.

Elaichi is more than just a bakery—it's a community. You'll find us at local farmers' markets every weekend, connecting with our customers, sharing stories, and building relationships that go beyond food. We believe in uplifting fellow small business owners and championing women entrepreneurs on their culinary journeys.

Above all, we are passionate about food made with integrity and care. We want our pastries to feel like they’ve been made by a close family member, where each bite brings a sense of joy and warmth. If it's not good enough for our own family, we would never serve it to our customers. Every dessert is a labour of love, created to bring people together and celebrate the joy of honest, delicious food.
